There have been six tree wraps since the first attempt. A beloved series, I hope it will continue as long as I can climb a tree.

      KARYONS

Karyo ambulatio (named by the artist)

The prefix (karyo- or caryo-) means nut or kernel.

Hickory nut are collected from the artists' home and/or surrounding area. Most show marking from  squirrels efforts at opening the very hard shells. Legs are from different types of nails, new or used rusty old nails.

        MULTIPEDES

This MULTIPEDE (Sparky) was created after discovering an old set of spark plugs. They were found in the rafters of my studio which had served many business purposes to previous owners. The oak branch is from our fantastic little forest/backyard outside of Savannah, GA. $200 (+ tax and shipping)
